ALLYSON KIS – Whitewater Kayaker & Medical Student
The second installment in the Balance series introduces Allyson Kis, a whitewater kayaker and medical student at McGill University. With a demanding academic schedule and a deep commitment to becoming a physician, Allyson still carves out time to pursue her lifelong connection to the river.
Shot on location in both clinical and natural settings, the episode explores how she finds balance between two worlds that couldn’t seem more different: navigating Class IV rapids one day and long hours in the hospital the next. Through her story, we’re reminded that passion doesn’t have to be sacrificed in the pursuit of professional excellence. If anything, it can be the very thing that fuels it.
